Who We Are

St. Paul’s is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).  The church was established in 1953 and has served the Hampton community in worship, service, and fellowship for more than 70 years.  St. Paul’s welcomes all of God’s children. St. Paul’s Sanctuary is “in the round,” designed specifically so that congregants can hear each other sing.  In lieu of stained-glass windows, the walls are adorned with hand-crafted banners.

Our Pastor

St. Paul’s is in a season of transition as we seek to call a new pastor.  We invite you to pray with us for our church council, our call committee, our committee leaders, our substitute pastors, our as-yet-unknown new pastor to come, for each other and for ourselves.  May the Holy Spirit be with us in this adventure.

Worship Service

Worship begins at 10:00 a.m. year-round.  All are welcome to share in Holy Communion.  The liturgy, or order of service, is printed in the bulletin and is easy to follow.  We praise the Lord with a variety of hymns and musical styles, accompanied on pipe organ or piano.  

St. Paul’s hand bell and vocal choirs make a joyful noise from mid-September through early June.  Practice is on Wednesdays, at 5:15p.m. for hand bells and 6:30p.m. for vocal choir. Newcomers are always welcome to ring or sing.

 Christian Education

Sunday School classes for adults are held at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, mid-September through May.  For more information, please contact the office at 757-838-2636 or stpauls_hampton@verizon.net .
