About

Who We Are

St. Paul’s is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).  The church was established in 1953 and has served the Hampton community in worship, service, and fellowship for more than 60 years.  St. Paul’s Sanctuary is “in the round,” designed specifically so that congregants can hear each other sing.  In lieu of stained glass windows, the walls are adorned with hand-crafted banners.

Our Mission Statement

God calls us together to grow in faith, love, and service.

Our Pastor

Rev. Tim Crummitt was born and raised in Martins Ferry, Ohio and lived in the Ohio River Valley most of his life.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies from Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia, and a Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary.  He met his wife Megan at a campus ministry retreat during college.  He was baptized, confirmed and married at First English Lutheran Church on 16th Street in Wheeling, WV. Pastor Tim was called to St. Paul’s in July 2016.  Of himself, he says:

” I have always been considered a class clown, I enjoy laughter and think it plays an important part in my relationships. I am also a deeply empathetic person, I try very hard to be a good listener and to help others feel included and their voices heard. My wife, Megan, is an important part of my ministry team and I could not do it without her. I love dogs and we have one named Ned, he is fantastic! My hobbies include photography, cars (I am what you would call a gear-head), working with my hands, reading, video games and technology.”
